Tehachapi Day 3 - Overheating Engine - 4/1/23 - 4k - Four meets! Auto, Manifests, Grain, Intermodal. Today was the day that had the most traffic and I was only going to be here another morning before heading home, so this was great timing. I always hope to get at least five trains per day, but I hope for 8 to 15 (depending on the time of year and the rail line). It was awesome to get so many meets because let's face it, two trains are always better than. I hit plenty of spots too. Woodford, Walong, Bealville, Sandcut and Caliente. Even though the line was shut down for three to four hours, it was a great day (the other days were good too, but today had tons of traffic). It looked like the one engine was overheating, but I couldn't say for sure. That train stopped at Rowen for probably three or four hours as another train was going to drop an engine off, but ended up not needing to drop off the extra engine as the overheating unit cooled down after sitting there three to four hours.
