Hello, I want to share my customizations in case others like me wants to see realism, border line boring hockey with limited shots and a lot of neutral zone skirmisches. With these settings, in CPU vs CPU (Coach of 1 team), I'm able to see around only 1 shot per real minutes of game per team or less. I play 12 minutes periods so there are no more than 12 shots per period per team (36 each per game max). If you play 6 mins periods, that would be 18 total per team for the game. Sliders all related, and some have different cause and effect than the description. So all sliders work together. Some may seem crazy on paper but they fit in the gameplay. First, Team Strategies. It's a game changer. You want both teams to have the following: Offense: Carry vs Dump: 1st line at 5 (in the middle) then +1 towards dump per line (6,7,8) Cycle vs Shoot: All lines at 0, max cycle, both offense and defense Efficiency vs Energy: All line at 9, almost max Energy (game changer for neutral zone defense) Shot blocking: In the middle Defense: Pinch no more than 5/10 for top pair, then minus one pinch per pair Max cycle - 0 for all Team Strategies: Trap vs Forecheck: 2/6, so mainly towards trap Defensive Pressure: Normal or puck side attack (avoid protect net or contain puck) Defensive Strategy: Staggered (avoid collapsing) Sliders: Equal for both CPU and Human (then feel free to adjust your human settings, but first try equal Difficulty: Superstar (Found out its max IQ for passing without unreal boost) General Gameplay Version: 1.00 Attribute Effects: 10/10 for NHL, 8 for AHL, 8-7 for league below (Better IQ but dummer below 80 OVR, sweetspot) Broken Stick Frequency: 23 Broken Glass: On Game Speed: 3/6 (we lower other sliders elsewhere to compensate, this speed unlocks animations) Fatigue Effect: 60 (encourages CPU to change on the fly quicker) Fatigue Recovery: 58 (same as above) Injury Occurence: 50 Skating Back Skating: 95 Puck Carrier Agility: 95 (unlocks better animations) Puck Carrier Skating: 20 (reduce turbo North / South hockey, encourages side passes) Player Acceleration: 32 (same reason as above) Skating Speed: 40 (It takes 2 seconds from one blue line to the other to cross, realistic) Skating Agility: 90 (unlocks better animations) Shooting One Timer Accuracy: 45 (encourages one timer passes) Shot Accuracy: 40 (encourages wristers over slaps) Shot Power: 15 Slap Shot Accuracy: 10 (discourages slaps) Slap Shot Power: 13 (same as above) Passing Pass Assist: 90 (user preference) Min Pass Speed: 27 Max Pass Speed: 57 Saucer Pass Speed: 40 Pass Accuracy: 65 Pass Interceptions: 50 (higher = less passes, lower = bad passing decisions) Pass Reception Ease: 85 (encourage passers to try nice passes, less robotic) Reception Reaction Time: 65 (realism for occasional ackward receptions, considering Ease is at 85) Puck Control Rating Effect: 50 (attribute effect already at 9) Puck Speed Reception Effect: 65 (considering reception ease at 85) Pickup Type Effect: 65 (same reason as above) Bouncing Puck Receptions: 35 (same reason as above) Puck Control Stick In Physics: Stick, Legs And Body Incidental Contact Puck Loss: Stick, Legs And Body Incidental Stick Contact Immunity: 0 Puck Control: 80 (encourage animations) Deking Impact: 2 (same reason as above) Spin Deke Impact: 5 (same reason as above) Skating Impact: 0 or 1 (still WIP) Goalies Goalie Cover Frequency: 90 Goalie Passing: 15 Goalie Cross Crease Reaction Time: 15 (encourages creative offense, still quick) Goalie Save Reaction Time: 35 (remember shot volume is low) - lower if not enough goals Goalie Deflection Reaction Time: 30 Goalie Screen Effect: 40 (discourage distant shot spamming) Goalie Screen Persistence: 40 (same reason as above) Checking Board Effect Non-Puck Carrier: 20 Board Effect Puck Carrier: 20 Hitting Assistance: 40 (user preference) Stumble Threshold: 90 (Stumble but not fall) Fall And Stumble Fall Ease: 2 (Removes arcade hits festival) Agression: 60 Hitting Power: 12 (Stumble Threshold at 90, no need for more) Size Effect: 12 (Removes arcade hits festival) Speed Effect: 25 Checking/Balance Rating Effect: 40 (Attribute effect already at 9) Preparedness Effect: 35 (same reason as above) Incidental Contact Effect: 25 Poke Checking Accuracy: 55 (important to limit shots) Poke Checking Power: 45 (pokes won't mean to throw the puck far) Stick Lift Effectiveness: 60 Penalties Default, can be higher, user preference. AI AI Learning: 2/6 CPU Difficulty Adjustment: 6/6 (Smarter and more patient cycling, especialy in Power Play) CPU Faceoff Difficulty: 50 Fight Difficulty: 50 CPU Strategy Adjustment: 1 or 2/6 (important not to mess with Team Strategies set prior) *Important, if you play CPU vs CPU, be at least coach of one team to unlock more changes on the fly for both teams.
