In July 1944, during Operation Goodwood, the tanks of B Squadron, of the 5th Royal Tank Regiment, were ordered to capture the French village of Bourguébus in Normandy. During this advance, part of the Squadron was ambushed by a group of German tanks, which included Panthers and a Tiger.
