Railfanning The NS Chicago Line July 2025

Taken on 7/11, 7/12, and 7/13/25 This is probably the biggest trip on this channel and the biggest trip for me in years as we head over to Northern Indiana for two days! This video of my four part tour videos series takes us to the Norfolk Southern Chicago Line a Norfolk Southern line that goes from Chicago, IL to Cleveland, OH and is one of Norfolk Southerns busiest lines. We head out to many different locations on the Chicago line starting from Chesterton, IN at the Porter junction to Goshen, IN that's near Elkhart, IN and continuing close to the Indiana and Ohio border by Wawaka, Kendallville, and Waterloo, IN. You will see a lot of different trains on here such as mostly NS trains, CPKC foreign power and trackage right movements, and BNSF foreign power and a Amtrak Floridian Service train which has almost been a year since it began service. You will also get to see some unique locomotives such as NS 1073 Penn Central Heritage Unit, NS 4005 Blue Mane DC to AC AC44C6M unit and some brand new CPKC ET44ACs that head up to eastern Canada. This was my first time going to the NS Chicago Line and I really enjoyed it and I hope you enjoy the video of all the trains I captured going up here.
