There have been increasing calls for institutions to collect and transparently disseminate career outcomes data for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Institutions have heeded these calls, which has, in turn, catalyzed the development of new tools for collecting and reporting career outcomes. Here, we present findings from a review of: a) career outcome classification methodologies; b) visualization tools and methodologies; and c) coalitions and other resources that can further aid institutions in managing, analyzing, and reporting outcomes data. Our goal is to provide a high-level overview of these resources and to discuss some key strengths of selected tools and visualization strategies. In the last segment of the presentation, we hope to facilitate a conversation amongst attendees using these tools so that we can learn from each other. Participants will have the opportunity to share how they are using these tools, what resources may have been overlooked, and ideas for facilitating equitable access to these tools. Speakers for this workshop: Tammy Collins, PhD, Director, Office of Fellows’ Career Development, NIH | NIEHS Rebekah Layton, PhD, CMC, PCC, Director of Professional Development Programs, UNC-Chapel Hill
