Standing Stake AKA Standing Meditation is a crucial exercise from Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Internal Kung Fu. It boost immunity and builds internal power, and lies at the heart of the Wudang Pai Tai Chi style. Many people are not used to just standing still, and can find it challenging at first. It is made easier when done with others, and when you slowly build up step by step. Table of contents is at the bottom. In this video I ask you to stand stake with me for 5 minutes. I outline some preparatory exercises and an approach that has helped many of my beginners - experienced students may just wish to skip straight to the standing (at 6.08), which has full traditional closing. There is a troubleshooting section at the end. Further standing videos will be released which focus on different aspects of standing, and we will slowly work up to longer sessions.
