Today we cover the full story of Shelob the last child of Ungoliant. She was the dreadful terror of Cirith Ungol - drinking the blood of Men, Elves and Orcs alike! She was no mere guarding to Mordor though, her offsprings would spread across Middle-earth and settle in Dol Guldur, Mirkwood and the eastern hills. In the First Age, she lived in Nan Dungortheb - the Valley of Dreadful Death, just like her siblings. It's the terrible pass where Beren would cross by chance or fate and eventually come into Doriath where he met Lúthien. Before the ruin of Beleriand Shelob would flee to the Shadow Mountains, forming the western border of Mordor. Many years later she would meet Gollum and make an unusual sort of alliance with the miserable creature.
