Been a hot minute... But I hope I made the wait just a (little bit) worth it. I have graduated summa cum laude at harvard (no I didn't) and I finally have some free time (im just now attending college guys HELPPPP) but anyways, I got 10 of the best Minecraft players I could find to design and build a fortress for them to try breaking into. I put a $500 cash prize to really up the stakes too. Who would win? Watch to find out!! [DISCLAIMER] Various events shown in this video may have been re-arranged, exaggerated, or fabricated for entertainment value or ease of story telling. During the actual event, I've tried my best to keep things as fair and reasonable as possible, I'm simply using what I have to the best of my ability to make a fantastic video. More info: You may notice in some parts it says "2/~300" people sleeping, which implies that the server does not in fact have 1000 people. Its misleading; the way our server software, Multipaper, manages 1000 people is by splitting up the world into multiple threads (or basically, multiple different worlds all synchronously stitched into one). I should also mention that we weren't able to get a constant stream of 1,000 players, as many players rage quitted or had to leave early- we can't control things like this. This really experimental software had issues, some of the base got rolled back so worldedit was used to correct for it. The Pros worked incredibly hard and the worldedit was simply done to reverse their work. There were also many technical issues that happened, and I apologize to any player in this event who had it get in their way. The actual battle was 30 mins. Nothing happened then, so I extended it, so I can have interesting things happen. We actually had a bit more than 10 players, and for good reason; for example, Coldified was caught xraying on the resource world and we had to ban him, and so having a few extra players helped in times like those. Believe it or not I was actually biasing the event to have the outcome be the opposite of what ended up happening, I just underestimated how good the winning party was :) [IMPORTANT] Here is a document defining what the general community thinks is P2W, and also explains how you can make YOUR server not P2W, in 30 community translated languages!: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1R...
