Testing correlation between BRIX and Alkaloid profile. Part 1

So I've had this idea on a earlier selection tool to choosing better seedlings without waiting for adulthood for alkaloid profiling without extractions. The BRIX meter measures TSS or total solid solubles which mostly consists of sugars. This isn't a tool to directly measure alkaloids in the cactus however may prove to be interesting to test for promising seedlings which are all grown in the same conditions. I've tested different sections of the cactus and the BRIX level is uniform. I am not increasing BRIX to test if it increases alkaloid production but am using it to test as a seedling selection tool for early detection of promising seedlings. Any correlation that may or not be found doesn't mean causation. A higher brix doesn't mean it produces more alkaloids because of the higher brix but it may have a higher brix because it has more alkaloids. Testing to see if increasing brix increases alkaloids is another project which this one doesn't test. The 4 winds bridgesii tested the lowest level at 2.2 degrees of brix while the other bridgesii in the same pot tested 2nd highest at 4.2. My bridegsii monstrose tested at over 6 BRIX however after drought period it drops just as these seedlings have as well. I've cut both seedlings and am drying and storing them in the same exact conditions. The extraction to see if this idea has any footing will be preformed in a couple of weeks most likely.
