We were honoured to have as the guest speaker for the last edition of the Sangam Lecture Series, Dr. R Balasubramaniam, an esteemed Member of HR of the Capacity Building Commission. A widely respected development activist, leadership trainer, thinker, and writer, embodies a rare blend of grassroots and macro perspectives on public policy and development, thanks to his multifaceted experience of more than three decades. He is currently a Visiting Professor at Cornell University, USA, and at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India where he teaches courses on Leadership and Human Development. He is also the Chairman of the Social Stock Exchange Advisory Committee set up by SEBI. His two very popular books are ‘I, the citizen’ and ‘Voices from the Grassroots.’ Later, he charters his journey as a trained medical doctor who has lived and worked with the tribal communities of Mysore District for thirty years. Dr. Balasubramanian coaches and mentors senior leaders in the non-profit, corporate, government, and educational sectors globally, apart from running leadership workshops for people from these sectors.
