http://www.vladtv.com -In this exclusive interview with VladTV, Grandmaster Caz explains the origins of some of the most widely used terms in Hip Hop culture. The veteran reveals that the term "Hip Hop" was actually an offensive word. Naysayers and critics of the genre would use the term and the less popular term "hippity-hop" to show their discomfort about the music. Caz explains how the word was switched around during a party hosted by Keith "Keef Cowboy" Wiggins of the Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five. When it comes to the term "rap," Caz says the it's origins trace back to the late 70's with artists using the the term in alliance to their records. Caz says the media created the word and other unsettling terms like "break dancer."
