Some of them had fractures of bones but the patients, as they see it, they didn't know about the explosion. The explosion happened suddenly without any previous event." 14. Imam amongst protesters outside mosque STORYLINE: The death toll in the car bombing of the Jordanian Embassy in Baghdad rose to 19 on Friday, American authorities were still trying to determine who was behind the attack. Many Iraqis who were injured in the attack were being treated in Al Karkh hospital, the closest hospital to the embassy. More than 50 people were wounded in the explosion at the embassy, which set cars on fire, flung the hulk of one vehicle onto a rooftop and broke windows hundreds of metres (yards) away. The powerful bomb at the Jordanian Embassy on Thursday was a classical terrorist attack and was thought to have been the first of its kind since American forces took control of Baghdad April 9. At the Sunni Um Al Tubul Mosque on Friday, Imam Mehdi Al Sumaidi condemned the embassy attack. Worshippers, meanwhile, chanted anti-American slogans in a demonstration outside.
