We had an inspection which we did not record on Cayenne and Jalapeno hivees. We moved the queens from the super box below the excluders we added. That was on August 15. It's been about a month since we were in Eclipse hive and Pheonix hive. We want to either add excluders or pull the supers and put in the freezer. We found no brood, and so we ended up pulling the hives. 16 super frames in total. The hives are being prepared for fall OVA treatments and allow us to get them prepared for winter by making final preparations. The leaves are starting to fall and the girls are out looking for food as August was our true "dearth" with a second rainy season in July. Oh... and we have a 5th hive that came from the swarm video we uploaded. They decided to stay, we weren't sure they would... but they did! So happy. We have 5 healthy hives going into winter. We'll have to see if remains into spring. The 5th hive's name is "Johnny 5".... well because it's the 5th and because IT'S ALIVE! (80's kids will get that one).
