Jere M. Warner - Oral History Clip on Tennessee Maneuvers

This is a clip from Jere M. Warner's oral history interview with his daughter, Suzanne, from April 1990. In this clip, he describes the World War Two military training exercises in Middle Tennessee called the Tennessee Maneuvers. Warner was a graduate of Central High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1946, after which he volunteered for the United States Army. He was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division to serve in the Army of Occupation in Japan during World War II. He returned to the U.S. and joined the Tennessee National Guard, in which he served for 33 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He attended Middle Tennessee State College, earning a bachelor's in chemistry and a master's in administration and supervision. He pursued a career in education and taught chemistry and physics for many years at Central High School and McMinn County High School. He later served as Director of Instruction for the Rutherford County School System. Jere Warner passed away at the age of 92 on October 12, 2019.
