We are going to Hanoi via AirAsia from Don Mueang (DMK) Airport, and in this video, we will explore the airport and share a bit of our flight experience. We booked a nearby, affordable hotel close to DMK since we needed to be at the airport by 4 AM. It wasn’t as scary as I thought because there were already a lot of people around. The airport is nice, with a few stores to explore and food to try, and everything was already open. Just a quick note regarding our flight to Vietnam—please make sure you're aware if you need a visa, as we didn’t know we needed one. We applied online and paid $52.07 USD for 2 people. We received the result after about 3 working days. At DMK, they checked our visa, but they didn’t at Hanoi. It was also very quiet at Noi Bai International Airport. When it comes to SIM cards in Hanoi, they’re very cheap at the farthest store (shown in the video). We didn’t know that the SIM card is mainly for data and doesn’t have a phone number. We also learned that to book a Grab ride, you can still connect as long as your home number is linked to WhatsApp to receive the verification code. We arrived on Tuesday and are flying back on Friday. We were charged 200,000 VND ($7.84 USD) for the sim card, but when I checked the change as we left, we were only charged 150,000 VND ($5.88 USD). The store assistant was really nice, so I’m not sure if this was a discount or what—haha. I realised I was in Asia when I was walking on the pedestrian lane, and a car honked at me haha!
