There are many legal questions being thrown around about the source of the training of some of these models, including voices and recordings of real music artists. But at the end of the day, AI is a tool that can easily be used in ethical ways to create music - in this case, a cover song. In this video, we’re going to create the beginning of a cover of “Fly Me To the Moon.” However, we are not using existing recordings, and we are not using a cloned voice without permission. Instead, we will use Band-In-A-Box to generate a backing track based on chords it pulls from a MIDI file. Then I’ll record my voice singing along with that track. Then, we’ll use Kits.ai to convert my voice into an appropriate female voice, add backing vocals, a bit of harmony, and then put it all together in our multitrack audio editor.
