The Autumn of Life — Melody Inspired by the Song Khazān | Hossein Daneshi

The "Khazān" by the master Parviz Meshkatian is one of the masterpieces of traditional Iranian music, featured in the album "Lahzeh Didar" ("Moment of Meeting"). This album, consisting of 18 tracks, is rooted in the Iranian classical style. Master Meshkatian’s santur playing and improvisations create a deep and moving atmosphere. "Khazān," lasting 6 minutes and 19 seconds, is one of the standout tracks of the album. It uses the Dastgah of Shur and the Bayat-e Tork mode, evoking a melancholic and reflective mood that symbolizes autumn and the passage of time. In composing "The Autumn of Life," I was inspired by the original melody of "Khazān" and aimed to preserve its essence while giving it a more modern and contemporary feel. This version incorporates electronic instruments and new arrangements, adding a fresh color to the piece, blending respect for tradition with contemporary innovation.
