CDC officers wearing hazmat suits test Fletcher (Johnathon Schaech from That thing you do!) and James (Andrew Fiscella) who becomes preternaturally aggressive and bites one of the officers and Lawrence (Greg Germann). The surviving inspector reveals that Briana's (Joey King from The Kissing Booth) dog is the reason the CDC has quarantined the building, as it was infected before being taken to the vet. After the revelation, Briana succumbs and bites her mother before fleeing upstairs. Kathy (Marin Hinkle) is promptly handcuffed when she tries to go after her. Reporter Angela (Jennifer Carpenter from Limitless and The Enemy Within TV shows) and her cameraman Scott (Steve Harris) are doing a story on night-shift firefighters for a reality-TV program. A late-night distress call takes them to a Los Angeles apartment building, where the police are investigating a report of horrific screams. The TV team and emergency workers find an old woman, who suddenly attacks with teeth bared. What's more, Angela and company find that the building has been sealed by CDC workers.
