I originally got this can opener because my wife had broken her elbow and couldn't use that arm. I had seen a youtube video of a lady who was one-armed and how she did all her cooking. She recommended this can opener in her video so I thought we'd give it a try. This can opener is very sturdy. This is actually my second purchase. The first one lasted for probably 4-5 years of daily use. For a $15 hand crank can opener thats a pretty good life time.
