These guys are absolute powerhouses when it comes to eating algae. They aren’t flashy, but they get the job done—fast. Amanos eat a wide variety of algae types, including hair algae, brown diatoms, and even leftover food. And thanks to their larger size, most bettas leave them alone. In my aquarium, they've been the most consistent and reliable algae cleanup crew. 🦐 Next on the list: Neocaridina shrimp, like cherry shrimp. They're colorful, fun to watch, and great for handling softer algae. Plus, they breed in freshwater, so if your betta tolerates them, you’ll eventually have a whole colony helping keep the tank spotless.
