Retrieval is only the first step. The real decision happens when the system begins combining information from multiple sources to construct a single answer. In this episode, Senthil breaks down the concept of fusion. After fan out expands a question into sub questions and retrieves relevant fragments, the system compares chunks from different websites and assembles the response using the strongest explanations. Instead of relying on one source, AI systems look for agreement and clarity across multiple sources before grounding the answer. This behaviour changes how visibility works in Large Language Model SEO (LLM SEO). The goal is no longer to dominate a results page. The goal is to contribute clear reasoning fragments that can become part of a combined answer. Definitions, comparisons, conditions, and context often come from different sites, which means multiple sources can appear inside one AI response. Senthil explains why alignment matters in SEO for LLMs and AI search. Content that clearly explains concepts and fits into a broader reasoning pattern is far more likely to be reused. Vague explanations or isolated viewpoints struggle to survive the fusion process. This is also where many LLM SEO optimization techniques fail when they focus only on rankings instead of reasoning contribution. The key takeaway is simple. AI answers are assembled, not selected. Your content does not need to own the answer. It needs to earn its place inside it. Day 17 explores what determines whether a source gets selected repeatedly, and why some brands appear consistently while others fade away.
