Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever live @ The Turf Club, St. Paul MN (July 27, 2022)

Everyone knows that two guitars are better than one. And three guitars are even better. And so I made the 7 hour drive from Winnipeg MB to St. Paul MN to catch these absolutely amazing Aussies on their 2022 North American tour. The band was in fine form, "The way it shatters" with its synth and chiming guitars was incredible, "Cars in space" propulsive sound was fabulous and you just can't have a better set closer than "French press" and its hypnotic groove. But, and it's a very teeny one, I was a tiny bit disappointed with "My echo" (   • Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - My Echo ...  , a song that blared loudly in my Summer of 2022 playlist, but which took me a bit to recognize during the show on account of an arrangement that was a bit of a left-turn from the album version which is a complete and unadulterated ripper. I mean, the song still sounded great and all in all the show was amazing and well worth the drive. p.s. Sorry there is a bit of unintended glitching going on, particularly during "She's there" and "Read my mind". The SD card on which this show resided got corrupted and I had to run some file recovery to extract the usable footage. p.p.s.
