Inside My Workshop 🔧✨ The Birth of a Hufschmid Guitar 🎸

Here is my latest creation: a baritone guitar with a 666 mm scale length (26.2 inches), offering extended tension while remaining comfortable to play. It features a one piece Sapele mahogany body and a one piece Sapele neck, both perfectly quarter sawn. The instrument includes a new inlay of 17 individually inlaid RichLite hexagons, referencing the 17 symmetry groups. The fingerboard is also RichLite, a highly stable composite material that does not react to humidity and prevents fret sprout. The guitar is fitted with Golden C425 brass fretwire, an alloy of copper, zinc, and tin. It offers durability between nickel silver and stainless steel, is hypoallergenic, contains no nickel, does not oxidize, and provides a consistent playing feel. Inside the control cavity, you will find my Blue Carbon signature layer, placed above the copper shielding as a visual detail. The nut is hand sculpted from Torlon 4203, a high performance polymer with exceptional mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and self lubricating properties. It transmits vibration remarkably well and its yellow color has become one of my visual signatures. The guitar uses Lace Alumitone humbuckers, which operate through a direct current sensing system rather than traditional wire coils. This design offers a very clean signal, fast response, excellent stability, and extremely low noise. A centerpiece of this instrument is a NOS Soviet KSG-2G silver-mica capacitor (0.027 µF ±5%, 500 V). It sits in a dedicated chamber under plexiglass so the player can see it.
