In this video, I show how to use a jump ring to attach a top drill drop bead (briolette) to be welded onto a permanent bracelet. (Note: for non-welding, if the hole is small, it is most secure to wire wrap a loop - I have a video on how to do this in various styles). Three things to consider: 1. The size of the drill hole. You must select jump rings that actually fit inside the bead! Otherwise, it is a non-starter. Many beads have hole sizes around 21gauge (0.7 - 0.8mm), so jump rings 22 gauge (0.64mm) or finer, will work. Best to check with the manufacturer. 2. The inner diameter of the jump ring. It must be large enough to clear the top of the bead. The space from the drill hole to the top of the bead must be smaller than the inner diameter of the jump ring, otherwise, it will not drop freely. The jump ring might overlap the side of the drop. 3. The width of the drill hole. It must be smaller than the inner diameter. If points one and two are satisfied, but the hole is wide and the curvature of the jump ring doesn't allow it to go through easily, you can adjust the ring to help it along. I show this in the video - you can straighten out the jump ring a little to let it thread through the drill hole. Once the wire goes through, bring it up a bit and bend the top wire down a little, until they meet. Then weld as you would normally. Once done, adjust until right and left sides of the jump ring is even.
