Mull Pollack | Etive Trout

Pollack and trout aren't obvious bedfellows but this trip provided plenty of both - with a great wild camp on Loch Etive thrown in. Day 1 was a long run down the south coast of Mull to reach an inshore wreck. I had hoped just to carry on right around Mull but the wind forecast was a little too iffy to allow that. Instead, I returned to Etive to set up camp for the night and cook some dinner and have a well earned beer. An early start next morning saw a load of trout to the boat before the sun rose too high in the sky. All in all, a great relaxing couple of days afloat on what have been rare sunny days this summer! I've been asked about my overnight mooring setup a few times and wrote up some notes on how I do it, which you can find at https://corkwing.co.uk/boat-fishing/s.... I haven't done any YT videos specifically on mooring but my notes link to one video with more info and I think there are one or two others where I also show the technique. It works pretty well but I'd definitely recommend a bit of practice before relying on it overnight. All at your own risk of course, so only do something you're comfortable with!!
