Ted Cruz is hellbent on making sure that all of Donald Trump’s nominees get confirmed in the Senate, but he made it clear during an appearance on CNN this week that he does have “standards.” In fact, Cruz suggested that he absolutely would NOT confirm anyone if they committed murder and then dragged the body into the woods. THAT is the bar that Cruz has set for Trump’s nominees, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains. Link – https://www.rawstory.com/ted-cruz-heg... Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who is getting ready to begin his third term in office, laid out the very, very low bar that he has for Donald Trump's nominees during an interview with CNN's Kaitlyn Collins this week. In fact, Ted Cruz said that really the bar is, as long as they haven't killed someone and dragged their body into the woods, you know, we're pretty good. Here is exactly what Cruz said. He was asked by Kaitlyn Collins if there was anything about Pete Hegseth, you know, history that would, you know, give him calls for concern. And he goes, well, sure if he, you know, killed someone and dragged their body into the woods, I'd vote no. I, I don't believe that's going to be the answer to which Collins rather shocked responded, but that's not your standard for confirming a, a defense secretary. And Cruz says, of course not. I picked an absurd example. But yes, of course, with any nominee, if something comes out about them that nobody knows, that is deeply concerning everyone will, that that's why you have advice and consent, because you discover things about people's backgrounds. I think most Republican senators begin from a position that the president is entitled to choose his cabinet members. At which point Cruz had to be reminded that, Hey, by the way, yeah, you think presidents are entitled to their cabinet picks, but you voted against all but one of Biden's cabinet picks. So maybe chill out there. You unbelievable hypocrite, but that's the bar. And Cruz was like, well, I just picked an outrageous example. Why didn't you give us a real example then, bud? Right? I mean, you could have done that. You could have thought for a second. You could have said, okay, listen, we know that this man has been accused of assault. I if we find out more about that, and, and it definitely looks like it did happen and he paid her to stay quiet. I'm a no, but, but you didn't do that. Like, there are very real, real world examples that you could have used. And instead you went to the extreme that he had to not only kill somebody, but also drag their body into the woods. Do you understand that part too, folks? I I wanna point that out again. He didn't just say Yeah, if they killed somebody. No, no, no. He said if they killed someone and dragged their bodies into the woods, so you gotta do both. Like you could kill somebody, but as long as you don't drag their body into the woods, I'm still a yes. Is that what you're implying there, Ted? And actually expanding on that, because we do know that there is one Trump nominee who, you know, did drag a body into the woods, technically granted not a human body, he didn't kill the thing itself, but, uh, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Did dump a dead bear in Central Park. Does that count, Ted? I mean, you know, are, are, are like, where, where do we draw the line on dragging bodies into the woods? I guess that's my big question for Ted Cruz. But the answer is simple. Most of these Republicans, not all, but clearly most of them don't even have bars. Right? It's not that the bar is low, it's that there's no bar. These people can do whatever the hell they want. But because Donald Trump picked him, we have to blindly accept it. We have to accept this man as a benevolent dictator doing whatever the hell he wants. And we all have to sit silently and say, yes sir, these are the best decisions for us. Sure. That is what the spineless, coward Ted Cruz is telling us.
