Hartford I-91 Bridge Slide

The I-91 Bridges in Hartford, VT were fracture critical and in need of replacement. PCL Construction built the new bridges adjacent to the existing structures over the course of the 2015 construction season, then demolished the old structures and moved the new bridges into place in just 2 weekends using the lateral slide technique. A bridge slide of this magnitude had never been attempted before in Vermont. Both the Northbound and Southbound bridge slides were completed ahead of schedule. Watch the video to see it in action!
