This video shows all item box / course object unused "special" item types. In other words, the unused slots from /RaceCommon.szs/Item/ItemSlotTable_Decided.bin Normally, these types are used: type1: On a single item box in DS DK Pass - Mushroom (70), Triple Mushroom (70), Star (60) type2: On some course objects that emit items (such as the pots in Shy Guy Bazaar) type3: On some course objects that emit items (such as the leaves from Wii Maple Treeway) type4: On some course objects that emit items (such as the barrels in DK Jungle) Setting 4 of the item box corresponds to the special item type to grant to the player. For other course objects that can spit items, such as barrels, crates, etc, this is setting 1. The rest of the item box types go unused, as no item box nor course object uses them in the vanilla game. Note that for the Lightning, Flower and Triple Green and Red Shells, the game sets a delay time until you can get those items from the item box again. If you touch the item boxes that have those items while the delay time is still active, the game will stop you from receiveing said item (in practice, it displays the Mushroom icon, but using it doesn't so anything). That's just a side effect of a cheat code I used to stop the CPUs in place for the showcase (the Bullet Bill movements are updated inside CPU-related code).
