On our trip south to check out where our salt comes from, we met some amazing Salineros. These are the folks that actually harvest sea salt in the traditional organic process that has been used for hundreds of years. In the montage, they state their names, how long they have worked in salt, and that they are a salinero. Almost all of them have a father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt that has worked in salt and taught them the skills required. Harvesting salt is a seasonal job.
