Haven't seen a lot of Blasphemous covers around, let alone on guitar - so I decided to arrange one of my favorite tracks. Credits: Composed by Carlos Viola Arranged, performed & mixed by Capt'n Shred All guitars recorded live About this track (nerdy stuff): This piece is interesting because it features very wide ascending and descending sequences (if you were to place the notes on a piano roll, it'd look like a mountain). Even though I have an 8 string guitar, it still lacks the range of a piano, so I had to alter some of the parts to fit my instrument. Speaking of alterations: the original has this really long build-up before the "main melody" happens. I broke that first section in two and inserted the ending melody in between, because it's my favorite part and I wanted it to come in earlier. Also, for the second and final repetition of the melody, I upped the tempo and transposed everything up a third to add more momentum towards the end. Sonics-wise, the compressed, crystal-clear guitar tone was the way to go since it conveys the cold and icy vibe of the original (also added some snow and wind sfx to help me sell the mood).
