Follow me on my latest adventure: an epic 16 hours solo hike through the wilderness of the Italian Alps. Sealed off by steep walls towering up 1000 meters lies the largest remaining wilderness of the Alps - abandoned by the last pioneers around 60 years ago. The first noteworthy rainfall of the year in this region happened in August, heralding the end of the worst drought since 70 years. Two days later, I followed the water from a tiny trickle along concealed aqueducts to impressive waterfalls - a surreal contrast to the aridity of the past months.
