In Part 7 of this build series, I complete the rustic tree trunk table with the final colouring stages and finishing details that bring the faux bois texture to life. This stage is where the piece truly transforms. Using layered staining techniques, controlled washes, and subtle highlights, I enhance the depth of the grain, define the cracks and knots, and create a natural, weathered wood effect in concrete. The focus here is on balance — building contrast without going too dark, allowing the sculpted texture to do the talking while achieving a realistic aged timber finish. The video is largely visual, showing the hands-on colouring process, subtle adjustments, and final refinements that complete the table. This series documents the full process of building a rustic, faux bois–inspired tree trunk table, from early structure through to the finished piece. In this video: • Final colouring layers • Deepening cracks and knots • Wash techniques for added depth • Highlighting raised grain • Bringing the faux bois effect to life 🔨 Project: Rustic Tree Trunk Table 🎥 Part 7: Final colouring & finishing 📍 Location: Kent, UK
