This 12 year old boy suffered a traumatic third window syndrome after a snowboarding accident 6.5 years ago. His cognitive dysfunction, migraine headaches and dizziness were thought initially to be due to his concussion. He was found to have a right cochlea-facial nerve dehiscence and a left CT negative third window syndrome. He was treated with round window reinforcement surgery on both sides. This video provides a background of how the peripheral vestibular system works, what patients experience with third window syndrome, what he experienced clinically and how his symptoms resolved over time. A series of 6 videos of him capture his experience before surgery and up to 5 years after surgery.
