An informed community is a connected community. The Jewish California Governor 2026 Candidate Forum brought together leading gubernatorial candidates to address the issues shaping Jewish life statewide at the Skirball Cultural Center in late-February. Steve Hilton, San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, Tom Steyer, Rep. Eric Swalwell, and former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa outlined their priorities and policies directly to Jewish Californians. The forum focused on the issues that matter most to the Jewish community: preventing antisemitism, strengthening Jewish community security, K–12 education and Ethnic Studies, supporting the California–Israel relationship, and protecting critical social safety net programs grounded in shared Jewish values.
