Opened in 2025 in the Walibi theme park, in Belgium, this Gerstlauer manufactured attraction is the star of the new Dock World zone. Stretching an impressive 3035 feet in length, approximately 925 meters, and featuring three powerful Linear Synchronous Motor systems, one launch and two boosts, it reaches a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour, or 65 kilometers per hour, providing a smooth and exhilarating ride without any inversions, at a maximum height of 49 feet, around 15 meters. Mecalodon is themed around a maritime setting, with the queue line winding through wooden cabins on stilts, creating an immersive port atmosphere. The ride begins in a three-level building that houses the station and the first launch, adding an element of mystery and excitement before the main event. The coaster's track runs along the former site of the Gold River Adventure tow boat, integrating seamlessly with the park's existing landscape. Each one of the 3 trains can accommodate 20 guests, with 10 cars of two riders, and the ride is capable of handling up to 960 guests per hour. Mecalodon is standing out as the longest launch coaster in the Benelux region, the combination of its length, speed, and thematic elements making it a standout family addition to Walibi Belgium's lineup of attractions.
