Making wooden doors with specialized cabinet door router bits is a very rewarding job, since you can see how everything fits together as if by magic. But are cheap router bits really worth it for making doors? I bought a cheap door router bit set, and in the previous video we already saw how I routed the ends of the rails. Now I’m going to use the other bit from the set, along with a slot cutter router bit, to rout the moulding and the groove on the stiles. As we can see in the video, several adjustments are needed to get the fit as good as possible. And even then, it’s not perfectly tight. Still, I think these cabinet door router bits can be good enough for making small doors, where we don’t need those joints between the wood pieces to be absolutely perfect.
