Udyan Express Like Never Before - Curving and Descending the Bhor Ghat

The Bengaluru - Mumbai Udyan Express can be seen as it begins its descent down the Bhor Ghat section. The Bhor Ghat is a 30 km section that lies between Karjat and Lonavala stations of the Central Railway and it has many curves, tunnels and bridges. On that day, the Udyan Express was being hauled by a Royapuram (RPM) WAP-7 locomotive (30389). You can hear the loud and clear sound of the generator van long before the train can be seen. The train has just left from its brake testing halt at Khandala station and is starting the descent down the ghat. I was standing on the mountain above the tunnel that the train goes into. The locopilot honked twice before entering the tunnel - once normally, and then in the typical WAP-7 high tone. Enjoy the view! Date of video: 27th January 2021
