"The Gargoyle Contract" from Chapter 3 of "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings". IMHO, the most difficult contract in all the game. READ THE DESCRIPTION BELOW... NB. This quest is for Roche's path. For Iorveth it is a bit trickier, because some guards are attacking you and some doors are closed. If I knew this before making this one I would probably would make it for Iorveth's path. But 1st I finished game for Roche (coz "Roche is your bro" and all that :)) and made a gargoyle quest, but after that even thought of going through this MOST ANNOYING QUEST in ALL TWO Witchers (including the First Witcher with its Raven's armor quest) and then capturing and editing it all over again made me sick. So, I hope you will manage to go a bit different way than shown in this video. It's not that difficult, imho. Loc Muinne takes some time to get used to, but it's manageable. So, having said that - to the quest... The combinations of runes may vary. Altogether there're 6 of them: First encrypted rune combination A doe's long shadow The moon quietly moans It is autumn already Solution: Extinguish the runes in the following order: Animal/Sky/Death/Time Second encrypted rune combination Three field mice Dance in a circle at dusk Stars are like grain Solution: Extinguish the runes in the following order: Animal/Death/Time/Sky Third encrypted rune combination Glittering fish Dying on a fresco Struck by lightning Solution: Extinguish the runes in the following order: Animal/Time/Death/Sky Fourth encrypted rune combination Behold the comet It is like a wolf in times of scarceness An evil lullaby Solution: Extinguish the runes in the following order: Sky/Animal/Time/Death Fifth encrypted rune combination Divertimento! Clouds are like bees When bells ring Solution: Extinguish the runes in the following order: Death/Sky/Animal/Time Sixth encrypted rune combination 6th encrypted rune combination On the dark sky The beauty of a falcon's flight Faster and Faster Solution: Extinguish the runes in the following order: Sky/Death/Animal/Time If you want to know how the runes look like - read books The Runes of Power I-IV. But if you "can't read" :) - ok, in this video in the first room the first extinguished rune is Death, then Sky, then Animal, then Time. Btw, I still didn't get why the sequences are as they are. The hint doesn't help. They should have given 4 sentences! But they give only 3 and you need 4 runes! For example: "Glittering fish / Dying on a fresco / Struck by lightning" - I see Animal, Death, Sky, but where the hell is "Time"?!!! Why the fuck it should go after Animal rune on second place?! Or "Three field mice / Dance in a circle at dusk / Stars are like grain" - Animal, Time, Sky, but where's Death?!! Why it should be second?! The only combination that seems logical to me is "Behold the comet / It is like a wolf in times of scarceness / An evil lullaby" - here I can see all the needed 4 runes: Sky, Animal, Time, Death... But maybe I'm just missing something. PS. There's a little glitch in this video: the runes look already extinguished and barely visible after reading the script though they're not.
