This is a very famous and beautiful loving and compassionate buddhist story, Guan Yin in the ancient Tang Dynasty. This is the 1st English story of Guan Yin given by Ven. Abbess Master Miao Jing. Master Miao Yin shared many famous Guan Yin stories. 魚籃觀音故事 大悲菩提寺 妙淨法師 *************About this Yúlán Guan Yin Story********************* According to the "Guan Yin Inspiration Record", the Guan Yin Bodhisattva turned into a beautiful girl to teach Buddhadharma in a small fishing village back in Tang Dynasty. This Fish Basket beautiful young lady (her name is Yúlán，she went to a small village, and many young people in the village saw her young and beautiful and proposed to her. Due to the large number of people pursuing, she came up with a way to say to young men in the village: "If anyone of you can memorize and recite the "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva buddhist sutra" overnight, I will marry him." By the next morning, there still have over dozens of people who can recite "Pǔ mén pǐn Sutra (Great Compassionate Sutra)". The Yúlán(Fish Basket lady) said, "I am only one person. How can I decide who to marry with ?" So she said to these dozens of people: "There is another sutra called "Vajra Diamond Sutra" in Buddhism.
