There is no simple way to mount my GoPro Hero 8 camera on the Manfrotto MKC3-H02 tripod as the tripod uses a quick release plate. No adapter is available to use the camera with the tripod. Since I have a 3D printer, I remixed the quick release adapter in Thingiverse and added the female receiver to the flip down mount of the Go Pro hero. You might have to scale up the adapter slightly if the fit is too tight to fit. I used a heated up screwdriver tip to smooth away or enlarge the space between the slats. The three holes have to be small enough to grab the bolt to create the threads to hold the camera tightly. I used PLA material and the fingers are very strong. The bolt used to secure the camera can cut through the 3 holes to create threads and no nut is needed to secure the camera if it is not loose. If you are cheap like me and also have a traditional 1/4 inch mount tripod, you can 3 D print a piece of plastic of at least 1/4 inch thickness, then epoxy the piece to the display mount that came inside the box with the camera. Drill a hole into the printed piece and insert a 1/4 hex nut (secure nut with epoxy). Now you have a mount that can be used with a traditional tripod. The easy way for most people is, of course, buy a 1/4 inch adapter for your new goPro8. You can print the adapter if you have a 3 D printer.
