BYD has developed a new platform with a battery that charges in 5 minutes at a power of 1,000 kW. They call it the Super e-Platform, and it's not a prototype; it's a reality. They've installed it in two of their new cars, the BYD Han L and BYD Tang L. These have a maximum charging power of 1,000 kW, which allows for 2 km of range per second, practically 100 km of range per minute. It's absolutely insane and a demonstration of how innovation in electric cars is just beginning. === 📸 Follow me on Instagram 👉 / earcos 🐦 Follow me on Twitter 👉 / earcos 🕹 Follow me on TikTok 👉 / earcos ✅ Subscribe to my newsletter 👉 https://geni.us/YsJMIA /// OFFERS + DISCOUNTS FOR MY SUBSCRIBERS //// 🤑 Get €5 to open an N26 account, commission-free: https://arcos.co/n26 📗 Up to 90 days of thousands of audiobooks free: https://arcos.co/audible === BYD has unveiled a charging system for electric cars called the Super E-Platform that can charge an electric car in just 5 minutes. This breakthrough could fundamentally change the electric car ecosystem. With the Super e-Platform, charging an electric car would take the same time as filling up a tank of a gasoline-powered car. One of the biggest obstacles to electric car adoption is charging time, and this new system could accelerate the global transition to electric mobility. BYD's plan is quite ambitious: to deploy a nationwide ultra-fast charging network in China based on this technology. The Super e-Platform is capable of peak charging of 1,000 kW (1 MW). To allow owners of the new Han L and Tang L cars to take advantage of such peak charging power, they have promised to install 4,000 charging points with peak power of 1,360 kW. Batteries with a 10C charge multiplier (ten times the cell's capacity per hour) High-power motors High-voltage silicon carbide chips Ultra-fast chargers supporting up to 1,000 kW By comparison, Tesla—its main competitor—operates with a 400-volt system and a maximum of 250 kW in most of its cars. The Cybertruck uses an 800-volt architecture, which offers charging power of up to 500 kW. The Super E-Platform is not a prototype. It's a technology already available in two of its new cars, the Tang L and Han L. #BYD #Batteries #EduardoArcos
