It presents Biblical psalms, native prayers, sacred laments, hymns and airs in a musical style that draws inspiration from sean-nós singing, plainsong, traditional Irish instrumental music and sacred polyphonic choral music. Fuaimlaoi’s second recording brings to life original compositions and traditional arrangements of Ronan McDonagh, providing insight into all aspects of interpretation and performance. We hope the collection will be a useful resource for church choirs wishing to access new material and that it will encourage the integration of our native Irish tradition within the liturgy.
