Emerging Artists II: The Frameworks of Many into the Creation of One I. Deep in the Bottom II. My Black is Beautiful III. My Identity is my Superpower IV. Four Women V. Who Am I VI. The voice VII. Frameworks of Many into the Creation of One Identity… Who am I? Who are you? Who are we in this big picture of humanity? Identity is Individual Difference Expressed and Negotiated through the Transfer of Information Throughout Your environment. This piece explores the many frameworks and concepts that impact who we are and the way we engage with the world around us through self exploration. Breaking down my own understanding of my Identity through the three major frameworks. Those three frameworks being Race, Gender and Community. These frameworks will be explored through the display of movement, props, and multimedia. I will be breaking down my understanding of what it means to be African American, Christian Women while highlighting the identities/individuality of my dancers within the collective. This dance work will showcase the intersectionality of the individual within a community and the understanding of self. Exploring the various ways we express ourselves due to the relationship of our environment. Project contains Dance, storytelling, and videography.
