There are many rebates right now for doing upgrades to your home to make it more energy efficient. These don’t just apply to heating systems, but also apply to the envelope of the home. What is great right now is there is a rebate available from FortisBC and BC Hydro that will offset some of the costs to do your insulation and windows upgrade. What is even better right now is to help stimulate the economy during COVID- 19, there is a short term rebate, where certain windows can qualify for double the rebate. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, select CleanBC Better Homes and Home Renovation Rebate Program rebates are doubled for a limited time to support the restart of B.C.’s economy and help homeowners save energy. Registration is required. Register for a promo code by December 31, 2020. Once received, your unique promo code can be used to apply for the Double the Rebate offer. Be sure to check your junk folder as well for the promo code. The emails will be coming from either BC Hydro or FortisBC. BC government has introduced the Better Homes program. The program has added a new eligibility requirement that now opens doors for more homeowners to have an opportunity to receive the rebates. Now, more homeowners can replace their old windows with new, energy efficient windows, in efforts to minimize their household energy usage and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions to make your home even better.
