This is a tutorial on How to Draw Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I’ve been a turtle fan for about 30 years. Hard to believe they’ve been around that long. I was a huge fan of the gritty, black and white turtle comics from Eastman and Laird in the 80’s. I was also a fan of Michael Dooney’s version of the Turtles who I got to meet at Wizard World in Chicago in 2016, I think it was. If you didn’t know, after about 20 or so issues, Eastman and Laird brought in other artists to create turtle comics. So the art and story telling was not a consistent with the original designs and pacing. Not saying that this was bad, just different from the Eastman and Laird originals. But Turtle Comics influenced my work. I model a lot of what I do with Spectre after the indy comic scene that exploded the turtle fandom. That is partially why my Spectre Comics are black and white and also why my Spectre Characters have only two fingers and a thumb on their hands. If you ever wondered why I design Spark, Storbo and Reesa like that, you have your answer. But I digress. This is a drawing tutorial video. This will go with my How to Draw playlist and there will be more to come.
