Mango is one of the best fruits cultivated in Bangladesh during the summer season and it is called as the ‘King of Fruits’. A good no. of mango varieties including Amropali, Langra, Khirsha pati, Gopal bhog, Fajli, Himsagor, Korpuri, Michri bhog, Lakshman bhog, Mollika, Surjapuri, Kanchamitha, Chata pora, Najir pochondo, BARI Aam-11, BARI Aam-4, Chosha etc. are grown here in this country abundantly in the mango growing areas of this country. But Amropali variety is very much suitable for commercial cultivation as in this variety, fruits are produced each & every year if proper management practices are followed. Its fruits are very sweet and tasty as well. Shape & size of ‘Amropali’ fruits are also good and its fruit wt./fruit has been recorded as 200-250 gm. Moreover, since it is a late season variety, market price of this variety remains always high and the growers earn a good profit by cultivating this variety. By growing mango; these excellent fruits can be exported fulfilling domestic demand.
