In this true crime documentary, we examine the heartbreaking disappearance and murder of Anitra LaShay Gunn, a 23-year-old Fort Valley State University student from Atlanta, who vanished on Valentine’s Day 2020 in Fort Valley, Georgia, after a controlling and escalating relationship with her boyfriend, DeMarcus Devonte Little—a man she had tried to leave repeatedly as his behavior grew more obsessive and violent. In the days before she went missing, he vandalized her property, and after her final night out, prosecutors say he strangled Anitra at his aunt’s home, then used her phone to send misleading messages, drove her car into a wooded area in Crawford County, and dumped her body, even attempting to extort her father with a ransom text while pretending to be a worried boyfriend. Phone location data, witness testimony, and trial evidence ultimately exposed the truth, and DeMarcus Little was convicted of felony murder and aggravated assault and sentenced to life without parole. Tribute: Anitra was more than a headline—she was a gifted young woman with big dreams, a loving daughter and friend, and a voice people still remember; rest in peace, Anitra LaShay Gunn—you are not forgotten.
