Come along with me and @HikerTrashHusbands for what will always likely be one of my favorite hikes: the Percy Peaks of northern New Hampshire. Starting at the Percy Peaks trailhead on Nash Stream Road (seasonal/closed in the winter), the trail wastes no time climbing to the saddle between the two Percies as it winds beside a Slide Brook. At the saddle, we followed the Old Summer Club Trail to the spur leading to South Percy (3,234'). The top of the peak has excellent view of the Whites and North Percy as well as a proliferation of tasty blueberries when they are in season. After a snack and time to take in the views we headed down the way we came and turned right on the Percy Peaks Trail until we reached the spur trail leading to the summit of North Percy (3,416'). The walk up to the summit takes you over a very steep rock slab, best done in dry weather, and the views from the top are breathtaking. You can wander all over the top without impacting any of the vegetation as there are many rock slabs and established footpaths there. We descended the same way we came up and turned left onto the Percy Loop Trail. This route also doubles as the Cohos Trail for a time until finally the Cohos heads further north and the Percy Loop Trail curves back to the west. We followed the loop trail back to Nash Stream Road and walked south about a mile to get back to the truck. Distance: 7.5 miles Elevation gain: 2,600'
