40 Miles in Big Bend | A film about change

The hike I did was combining the outer mountain loop & the south rim (40ish miles), took 4 days for me to complete the hike & I stashed extra water at homer Wilson ranch, which is along the route, before my hike. Winter time is usually the best time to do this hike, otherwise temps in the spring and fall can reach close to 100 F and summer in the 120 F. The big challenge of the hike was the water carry. There are a few stagnant sources close to the south rim, but they are filled with algae & other fun things. In the lower desert there is one notable stagnant source in Fresno creek, which is also an unreliable source. Your best bet is to carry all of your water and cache where you can. Big bend is the most remote national park in the lower 48 & is considered hard to get to because of lack of amenities along the way. A good amount of people will fly to Dallas tx or Midland tx and rent a car to get here, but I'm not spending that much money in the big 25, so I drove 17 hours there.
