Rory Shallis, MD, Yale Cancer Center, West Haven, CT, discusses the BLAST AML-2 trial (NCT04284787), a randomized Phase II trial comparing azacitidine plus venetoclax with versus without pembrolizumab in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Dr Shallis notes that the trial was terminated prematurely and found no difference in measurable residual disease (MRD)-negative complete remission rates between the two arms.
